Free 15-minute call
Tell me what you're working with. I'll tell you honestly which path fits — including "none of these," if that's the right answer.
Pick your path
1:1 sessions, the 8-week cohort, or a custom program. Sliding-scale slots reserved in each.
Start the practice
Sessions are practical and warm. We build skills you can use this week — not theory you'll forget by Friday.
1:1 coaching
Tailored Mindful Self-Compassion coaching.
One-on-one work on the specific places where you're hardest on yourself — in person in New York City, or on Zoom from anywhere.
Who this is for
You're externally accomplished and internally self-critical. You hold yourself to a standard you wouldn't ask of a friend, and you've started to suspect the inner critic isn't keeping you on track — it's slowing you down.
Maybe you've read Neff's book, or Germer's. Useful conceptually, but you haven't been able to make the practices stick on your own. You're not looking for theory. You're looking for someone to work with you on the actual doing of it.
The practical curriculum
Every coaching arrangement is tailored, but most clients move through some combination of: learning to recognize the inner critic in real time and treating it less as a fact and more as a familiar voice; building a 5–10 minute daily practice that actually fits your life; working with shame, failure, and the small daily ruptures that run the show; translating mindfulness, common humanity, and self-kindness from concept into reflex.
What this is not: a goal-coaching framework, a productivity hack, or a vehicle for telling you everything is fine. The work is warm but it is also honest.
Common questions about 1:1
How many sessions does this usually take?
No fixed package. Some clients see useful movement in three to five sessions; others work with me on and off for a year or more. We figure it out together.
What's the difference between coaching and therapy?
MSC coaching is skills training: we work on the practices that build self-compassion as a capacity. It is not psychotherapy. If you're working through trauma, an active eating disorder, or a clinical condition, therapy is the right setting — coaching can complement it but doesn't replace it.
Do I need prior meditation experience?
No. The practices are simple to learn (the doing is the harder part) and you'll be guided through them step by step.
How is payment handled?
1:1 sessions are paid up front via PayPal at booking. Sliding-scale slots are reserved each month — mention it in the discovery call.
Will MSC make me lazy or self-indulgent?
Empirically, the opposite. Across hundreds of studies, self-compassion predicts more initiative, better follow-through after failure, and healthier behavior — not less.
Flagship offering
8-Week Mindful Self-Compassion Course
The full MSC curriculum developed by Christopher Germer and Kristin Neff. Eight weekly sessions of about 2¾ hours, plus a 4-hour mini-retreat. Cohorts of 6 to 12 participants. In-person NYC or live on Zoom.
What you'll learn
How to stop being so hard on yourself. How to transform the inner critic. How to handle difficult emotions with greater ease. How to motivate yourself with encouragement instead of harshness. How to navigate difficult relationships, old and new. Mindfulness and self-compassion practices for daily life. The research behind the practice. How to give yourself the care and tenderness that, somewhere, you already know you need.
What to expect
Program activities include meditation, short didactic talks, experiential exercises, group discussion, and home practices. MSC is a workshop, not a retreat — there are periods of silence, but the format is interactive. It is also not group therapy: the emphasis is on building emotional resources, not processing past wounds, though difficult feelings do arise and the format is designed to hold them safely.
Plan to attend every session and to practice at least 30 minutes a day throughout. The course satisfies a prerequisite for becoming an MSC teacher yourself.

Common questions about the MSC course
When does the next cohort start?
Cohorts are scheduled on request rather than on a fixed public calendar. Join the interest list and I'll email you as soon as a group is forming. Alternatively, gather six to twelve interested people and we'll set a start date.
Can the 8-week course be done 1:1?
Yes. Same curriculum, scheduled on your timeline, delivered privately. Pricing reflects 1:1 delivery — mention it in a discovery call.
Are scholarships or sliding-scale spots available?
A small number of sliding-scale spots are reserved per cohort. Mention it when you join the interest list.
Is there an intro option before the full course?
Yes — half-day or two-hour intro workshops are offered on demand, as stand-alone public sessions, in-house for an existing group, or as a pre-cohort taster.
For organizations
Custom & corporate workshops.
Tailored training for workplaces, schools, clinical teams, parenting groups, recovery groups, athletic teams, and other communities.
How we work together
We start from the specific pressures and patterns that show up in your context — burnout, perfectionism, secondary trauma, transition, performance pressure, the inner critic that runs the show — and we build a workshop or multi-session program around those.
Past work has included clinician self-care sessions, MSC-for-helping-professionals trainings, and shorter "self-compassion at work" intros for teams.
Formats
Anything from a 90-minute keynote-plus-practice to a multi-session series spread over weeks. Half-day and two-hour intros are also available as a lower-commitment entry point. In-person in the NYC area or via Zoom anywhere.
Getting a proposal
The cleanest path is the contact form — tell me about your organization, the audience, what you're hoping the workshop accomplishes, and your rough timeline. I'll reply within two business days with a proposal.
Common questions about workshops
Do you work with clinicians and helping professionals?
Frequently. Custom MSC-for-helping-professionals workshops, group cohorts run specifically for clinicians, and 1:1 work are all available. Mention your professional context when you reach out so I can shape the work appropriately.
What's the minimum group size?
For workshops, anywhere from a small leadership team to a full-staff training. Pricing scales with audience size and program length — proposal handles the specifics.
How is payment handled?
Workshop pricing is handled by invoice after we've scoped the program. Net-30 standard; other terms negotiable for institutional buyers.
Do you travel outside NYC?
Yes, for in-person engagements. Travel costs are billed at cost; we can also deliver remotely on Zoom for any audience size.
