Our Mentors

Kim Gerrish, MSW., RSW.

Kimberly Gerrish is a professor and part time therapist at Kindful Psychology in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada. Kimberly has been using the practices of Mindful Self Compassion in therapeutic and academic settings for several years and is passionate about its transformative effects on one’s emotional well being and the quality of connection felt in relationships. Kim noticed the benefits of offering herself unconditional kindness quickly - her mind felt clearer, her body more relaxed and was kinder to others. She is a proud mother of two adult children and enjoys everything that the North has to offer- including skiing, hiking and snowshoeing.

Genevieve Marie Bouchard, PhD.

Genevieve works as an Accommodation Assessment Specialist at the Public Service Commission of Canada and as a researcher conducting Independent Reviews for clinical trials on depression. For 20 years, she witnessed the profound impact of mindfulness on those suffering from a range of mental health challenges while delivering mindfulness groups and training mental health professionals. Participating in the MSC program provided her the supportive safe space to navigate overwhelming feelings of loss, grief, and shame and open finally the path towards a deeper sense of self-compassion, acceptance and community that was needed after a recent personal injury. A trained facilitator of Mindfulness Based Chronic Pain Management (MBCPM Neuronova Center), Genevieve is now deeply committed to making these practices accessible to others, particularly those suffering from chronic pain and injury. In her free time, she enjoys yoga, piano and cooking with her loved ones.
